Luc Dessart is a theoretical astrophysicist whose studies focus on the radiative transfer
and radiation hydrodynamics modelling of stellar explosions. Using numerical simulations,
he investigates the properties of supernovae, to constrain their stellar progenitors
and understand the mechanisms of explosion. Over the years, these tools have become very versatile,
allowing the accurate modelling of the radiation from thermonuclear and core-collapse supernovae,
interacting supernovae as well as magnetar-powered supernovae.
